Christian Fairytale

A Christian Fairytale #1

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ~Matthew 19:24

Through my life as a “Christian”, I have heard of tales about the “Eye of the Needle” in which Jesus tells about how hard it is for a rich person to enter into Heaven.

Pastors would explain that it was not impossible for a rich person to get into Heaven and that Jesus was talking about a gate that was in Jerusalem. This gate was a so small, that a camel would have to be undressed from all of its gear in order for it to enter into the city through this gate.

Through my studies and research into the matter, I have learned that the Tour guides of Jerusalem and its historians often get asked the question a lot, “Where is the gate called the eye of the needle?” It is mainly asked by Americans and the tour guides laugh and say that there was never such a gate and it was a made up fairytale by American pastors.

The pastors who teach this, probably do not mean no harm, after all that is what they had been taught.
When it comes to such things about how to enter heaven, we need to research and pursue truth.
